The following privacy notice informs you about the nature and scope of the processing of personal data in connection with an informational visit to the DOUGLAS careers website.

Personal data is information that can be directly or indirectly attributed to you as an individual.

When you access the website, various information is exchanged between your device and our server. This may also include personal data.

§ 3 Purposes of Data Processing, Legal Bases and Legitimate Interests

3.1 Providing Our Website

When you access our website, your browser automatically sends information to our website server. The following information is collected without any action on your part:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • Website from which access was made (referrer URL)
  • Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your device and the name of your access provider
  • Volume of data transmitted
  • HTTP status code

The purpose of this data processing is to enable us to provide you with our website.

The legal basis for processing this data is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests lie in the aforementioned purpose.

The data is deleted immediately after the website has been delivered.

3.2 Creating Log Files

In addition, we temporarily store the following data in a so-called log file:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • HTTP status code

The purposes of this data processing are:

  • Ensuring convenient use of our website
  • Evaluation of system security and stability
  • Other administrative purposes, such as enabling error diagnosis

The legal basis for processing this data is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes listed above.

Log files are stored for a period of 30 days before automated deletion.

3.3 Social Media Buttons

Our website contains social media buttons for various social networks.

These social media buttons are merely links to the respective providers. No data is transmitted to these providers as long as these buttons are not clicked.

If you click on these buttons, you will be redirected to the website of the respective provider. Depending on whether you were logged in to the respective provider at the time of clicking, your data will be processed in accordance with the data usage policies of those providers and may be used for profile creation.

If you click on a link to an external page, you leave our careers website. DOUGLAS is not responsible for the content, services or products offered on the linked website, nor for data protection and technical security on those linked external pages.

§ 4 Bot Management / Security Cookie

We use a security function on our website to distinguish bots from real visitors and to protect the website against automated attacks (“Bot Management”). For this purpose, a cookie (__cf_bm) is set when the website is accessed.

Access to your device is strictly necessary to enable us to securely provide you with our website as explicitly requested and is therefore based on Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG.

Subsequent processing of personal data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests lie in the purposes of website security that we pursue.

The security cookie is deleted after no more than 30 minutes.

§ 5 Categories of Recipients

For certain tasks, we may engage external service providers as so-called processors (e.g. data centres).

Whenever we work with such service providers, they are contractually obliged to observe data protection in the same manner as we are.

§ 6 Obligation to Provide Personal Data and Consequences of Non-Provision

You are neither contractually nor legally obliged to provide us with personal data.

However, the use of some services provided on our website is not possible without providing the data required for this purpose.

§ 7 Your Rights

In accordance with the requirements of the GDPR, you have various rights that you can assert against us if the respective legal conditions are met:

  • Right of access pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR
  • Right to rectification of incorrect data or completion of incomplete data pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR
  • Right to erasure pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR
  • Right to restriction of processing pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR
  • Right to data portability pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR

Right to Object:

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME, ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU WHICH IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ARTICLE 6(1)(F) GDPR; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THIS PROVISION.

WE WILL THEN NO LONGER PROCESS THE PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data is unlawful, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.

§ 8 Updates to this Privacy Notice

We adapt this privacy notice to reflect changes in functionality or changes in the legal situation. We therefore recommend that you review the privacy notice at regular intervals.
